Ingredients
½ Soft, Ripe Banana
A sprinkling of oats
This face mask is super quick to make and is a good way of using up those old bananas you may have lying around. As an oily fruit with moisturizing and anti-inflammatory qualities, bananas are ideal for dry and sensitive skin types. Bananas pulp also contains potassium and antioxidants making it an excellent treatment for skin conditions like acne, dry spots, and redness. Mixing the banana with a small amount of natural oil and oats which serve as a mild exfoliant, your skins tone will become balanced whilst also providing nourishment and moisture to the skin. So, read on and see how you can make this magic mix at home.
Instructions
- Take the banana and slice it into small pieces
- Mash with a fork or use a blender to form a smooth paste
- Grind and then add your oats. I use a pestle and mortar to grind mins so that you get a gritty texture running throughout the mix. Throw in some larger oat flakes and you’ve got yourself a wicked scrub.
- Add a little sweet almond oil to boost the nourishment to your skin and have you mask smell delightful.
- Keep mixing until you form a thick paste. Add more oats if the mixture is too runny or a little more banana if you’ve overdone it with the oats.
- Apply liberally and leave for up to 30 minutes.
If you don’t want to use it straight away, store in an airtight pot in the fridge and use within 24 hours.
This is what your mask should look like when you are finished!
